Lehigh County Sheriff's deputies were called to "serve a domestic relations warrant" on a resident of the 2500 block of Waynesborough Court, Lower Macungie Township, around 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, troopers said in a release.
When they arrived, the 54-year-old subject of the warrant "made threatening comments," causing the deputies to leave the home and call for backup, state police said.
Troopers from Fogelsville Station responded and set up a perimeter around the home, authorities said. A state police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) took command of the scene.
SERT negotiators coaxed the man into leaving his home around 2:35 p.m., troopers said. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for evaluation.
No injuries were reported, though Sauerkraut Lane was closed from Millhouse Road to Saddlebrook Road while troopers worked the scene.
